DEEP SEA DROPS

Metal, paper-mâché, UV paint, between 30 and 70 cm| 2016

The drop sculptures appear white in daylight. It is a group of five sculptures representing water drops in different stages.

In black light, the white drop sculptures transform and come to life. Each of them seems to radiate a different colour, similar to self-luminous deep-sea creatures.

In a dark room, these magical, glowing drops create another world, reminiscent of the deep sea in its relaxed and meditative atmosphere.

The drops themselves have an animated quality that leads to an emotional connection between water and life.

My intention is to create a visible connection between the element of water and the concept of water as the source of all life on earth.
